A gift in a will is a wonderful thing – it costs you nothing in your lifetime yet it ensures that future users of the house and gardens can share its pleasures as you have.
In 1918 Henry Stephens left his house & gardens, the Avenue House Estate, ‘for the use and enjoyment always of the people’. To be able to achieve his vision the Avenue House Estate Trust needs to raise the money that is necessary to both operate and maintain the house and gardens. Whilst we try to make the estate self-funding, donations, including legacies, make this much easier, and enable us to invest in improvements in the property.
If you decide to remember us in your will, thank you so much! Your solicitor can advise you how to do this when you draw up your will, or, if you want to add the Avenue House Trust to an existing will, we have included a Codicil Form which, provided you get it correctly witnessed and signed, is all that you need. We do still advise that you should consult your solicitor.
Should you decide to remember the Avenue House Estate Trust in your will – or have already done so – it would really help us with our future planning if you could let us know, using the form we have enclosed. Of course, we will treat anything you tell us in the strictest confidence.
Finally, we’d like to say thank you for remembering Stephens House & Gardens.
