A Grade ll listed house with extensive landscaped gardens, gifted for the use and enjoyment of the people by Henry Charles 'Inky' Stephens of the Stephens' Ink Company.

Volunteer roles

There is a wide range of work to be undertaken and we are sure to find a task to match your skills.

We welcome volunteers to carry out work on the estate. It is a chance to show your love in a practical way and to meet other like minded people.

Volunteers carry out a range of tasks on the main estate including clearing weeds & brambles, and assisting in the house.  On a Friday morning the Bothy Gardeners meet in the Bothy Garden to help maintain the walled garden.

You do not need any special skills to be able to help as we are sure to find a task to match your ability. If you have a horticultural or environmental studies background, or carpentry skills they would be particularly appreciated.

See our website for details of our regular Gardening Sundays.

Litter Picking: if you would like to help us keep the Gardens tidy you can litter pick at any time the gardens are open.
