A Grade ll listed house with extensive landscaped gardens, gifted for the use and enjoyment of the people by Henry Charles 'Inky' Stephens of the Stephens' Ink Company.

Stoneware Ink Bottle (circa 1920’s)

This bottle is for Stephens most famous product, Blue-Black Ink.

The ink was blue when writing and dried a permanent black.

A great believer in the power of advertising, Stephens missed no opportunity to promote his other products, and so the bottle has an advertisement for Inks and typewriter carbon paper and ribbons.
