A Grade ll listed house with extensive landscaped gardens, gifted for the use and enjoyment of the people by Henry Charles 'Inky' Stephens of the Stephens' Ink Company.

Typewriter Ribbon Box (circa 1910)

Henry Stephens was quick to capitalise on the increasing popularity of the typewriter, and it was a natural step to start production of both typewriter ribbon and carbon paper.

Just as with its writing inks, the company claimed that the ribbon was suitable for all climates, allowing for sales across the globe.

Note that this is also written in French and Spanish.
